The hostel is fairly centrally located, a few minutes walk from the Old Town and a few more from the port where beachgoers can find the ferry to get there. The rooms are clean and comfortable, some of the best nights of sleep I've had anywhere. The beds have curtains so you can get some privacy if you want it. The bathrooms (especially the ones outside of the dorms) are clean and cleaned on a regular schedule. The staff are friendly and helpful and gave me some really good suggestions for restaurants and bars, so definitely do ask. They will also help you find/book a range of activities besides the ones that are hosted by Casa and their sister hostel, which happen daily. Nightly dinners and weekend pub crawls are a good way for solo travellers to meet fellow travellers. All that and the fairly active WhatsApp group chat means that you don't have to eat/do things alone unless you want to and I personally found it a nice mix of independence and sociability.

I stayed in a 6-bed female dorm first night, and in 4-bed mixed dorm the second. One of the best hostels I've been to. Many big spaces both inside and outside to rest, work or be social. Super super clean. Nice beds. And not at last exceptional staff: super helpful and friendly. Most impressive: I forgot a dress in my room, the girl in the reception connected me, short after and offered me to send it to desired address. Impressive. Also the staff was very helpful, when to book for second night. The different spacious common spaces gives a feeling of home, which for me was so precious after long travel time. I so appreciated the very comfy soffa. The location is also very good, close to anything. Also close to train and bus station.

I haven't stayed in a hostel for a while so I was a bit nervous. Casa d'Alagoa was such a lovely stay. The receptionists were always helpful and friendly and the reception area is stocked with essentials (beer on tap)! There is a dinner and drinks every night which was a good way to meet other travellers. The location was great and in a pretty area of Faro. The beds were comfy and the curtain was great for privacy. It was all super clean and the bathrooms were nice too. I was able to leave my stuff in the room after check out and use all the common areas until i left which was a bonus. Loved the roof terrace!

- amazing location - very central, 10 mins walk to the harbor/central market - outdoor spaces - my absolute favourite thing about this hostel. Just beautiful! - really spacious. Would recommend 12 bed dorm because it’s so big it really doesn’t feel crowded, plus mine had a balcony and 2 en suite bathrooms. I saw a couple of the 6 bed dorms (I think) and they looked fairly cramped. The shared spaces felt really spacious too, with lots of different terraces and places to sit. - Loved the curtains on the beds- added privacy and meant it was easier to sleep with people coming in and out.

The hostel is very centrally located. The most important thing in this hostel are their staff, Patricia, Sabrina, I am not remembering the names sorry, all 3 girls were super good 👍 Also Max, from the pub crawl. The beds are comfortable with a curtain. The toilets are always cleaned and there are pretty many bathrooms. Also, there's a nice rooftop, but as it was winter, nothing was happening there, maybe good in summer. The kitchen was fully equipped and also the area is nice to sit and chill with other guests.
